Possible Human Trafficking Case Discovered by State Patrol along I-75

A man with possible ties to human trafficking stands accused by authorities of kidnapping two Kentucky girls.

30 year-old Darien McKinley of Louisville, Kentucky, is charged with second-degree felony kidnapping.

Troopers from the state highway patrol said that at 4 p.m. on Saturday, a 17-year-old girl was dropped off at a rest stop in Bowling Green on I-75.

Officials were contacted by someone at the rest stop, who reported that a young girl said she was kidnapped several days ago and had just been released.

A second girl, a 16-year-old, was found after troopers stopped the suspect's commercial truck on I-75 in Shelby County.

The girls are now in temporary protective custody or back with their families.

The investigation is being handled by the highway patrol and FBI offices in Dayton and Toledo.
