Seven people were injured in a two car crash near Van Buren in Hancock County on Thursday.
The Hancock County Sheriff's Office reports 37-year-old Rachele Shepard was driving east on State Route 613 in her mini van around 3:30 p.m. when a man turning left pulled in front of her. The unidentified man then drove away from the scene of the crash. Investigators say he was driving a tan 2002 Chevy Malibu.
Shepard was taken to Blanchard Valley Hospital for treatment of her injuries along with 67-year-old Cheryl Johnson, 69-year-old Leonard Johnson, 14-year-old Frederick Shepard, 10-year-old Jason Shepard, and 6-year-old Timothy Shepard.
A passenger in the Malibu, 22-year-old Katrina Taylor, was taken to the hospital by private vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.
