Trees and limbs fell on power lines in parts of the area yesterday, including in Putnam County, where an undetermined number of homes and businesses were without electricity.

The National Weather Service said a cold front moved into Ohio, creating a low pressure system that generated wind gusts of 45 to 50 miles an hour in the Putnam County area. The wind gusts have tapered off by morning, reaching 10 to 15 miles an hour.

The temperatures also fell overnight to the mid 40s.
