A semi that was headed east on U-S 33 near Wapakoneta on Monday morning was exiting the south-bound lanes of I-75 when the driver lost control and struck a car head-on in the north-bound lanes.

The Wapak post of the State Patrol said it took place just after 11am.

The couple in the vehicle were from Texas- and they were taken to Lima Memorial Hospital.

The driver of the semi was 47 year-old Suzanne Borders of Wawaka, Indiana.

She was taken to Saint Rita's Medical Center.

The semi also caught fire- which was extinguished by officers when they arrived on the scene.
