This week marks National School Bus Safety Week.

Troopers from the Ohio State Highway Patrol will be visible this week- enforcing the law in and around school zones- and following school buses on their daily routes.

In some instances- troopers will ride on buses- as they watch for motorists who attempt to pass a stopped bus.

There have been close to 5-thousand crashes on Ohio's roadways involving school buses from 2009 to 2011.
