The wrath of Hurricane Sandy is being felt even in our part of the world- and that has affected travel plans for the Presidential Campaigns.

The Mitt Romney rally scheduled for this afternoon at the Elida Fieldhouse has been cancelled.

Crews were on-site late yesterday afternoon tearing down the equipment that had been set up just hours before.

Two American Red Cross volunteers with the Allen County Chapter have been deployed prepared to help with relief efforts.

Tim “Bo” McComas of Lima left early Saturday morning- driving an Emergency Response Vehicle to New Jersey- and Steve Newman of Lima got a flight out Sunday morning ahead of the storm- and he is stationed in Baltimore.

Emergency Response Vehicles are used to distribute food and supplies to neighborhoods affected by disaster.

Scattered power outages by all of the major power companies are being reported throughout the state.

High wind gusts could occur through today as well.

Several area school districts decided to close or at least operate under a delay today.
