Bill Timmermeister with the festival committee said the trees have special meaning inside with Lima and Allen County history.
A ceremony that started in the chilly outdoors- and finished inside the Allen County Museum- kicked off the 40th annual Christmas Tree Festival on Wednesday.
A new flag pole was dedicated on the Market Street side of the museum- and inside- the ribbon was cut for the start of this year's festival.
