People age 65 and older make up the fastest growing age group in the United States- which makes their ability to drive an issue for millions of families- and Triple-A Auto Club has released new research to assist older drivers and their families..

Crashes per miles driven decreased by 28 percent between 1995 and 2010 for drivers of all ages- but older drivers saw the biggest decline with drivers from ages 75 to 79 decreased by 42 percent and drivers ages 80 to 84 decreased by 40 percent..##

However- the research also found that older drivers have the highest rates of death compared to other drivers- largely because of their inability to survive a crash due to age-related conditions..
