Plant Manager Keith Deters said they’re still hoping to secure more contracts that will take tank production into 2014 and beyond.

A lot has happened since the Task Force Lima group met 2 months ago- to discuss activities- and future projects- at Lima’s Joint Systems Manufacturing Center.

Most Recently- President Obama signed the Defense Bill- meaning more Abrams tanks will be made by General Dynamics in Lima.

Plant Manager Keith Deters said they’re still hoping to secure more contracts that will take tank production into 2014 and beyond.

Deters said the plant is also in constant talks with foreign governments like Egypt- Israel- and Saudi Arabia- for tank and equipment production.
