Members of the Celina Police Department learned on Wednesday morning that retired Canine Officer "NICK", the Celina Police Department’s first canine officer, passed away from natural causes.  

“NICK” was born in Germany in 1999.  He became a member of the Celina Police Department in September of 2000. 

Canine Officer “NICK” served the Celina Police Department for ten years.

During his ten year career his search and tracking abilities led to dozens of apprehensions..  The last three months of his tenure NICK served as a mentor for Canine Officer "TED", who was obtained by the Celina Police Department as his replacement.
