The father- Phillip Smeal- was standing in front of Jon and Toni’s bar. When asked if he knew where his child was, Smeal stated that she was home in the crib.

The Ada Police Department received a report of an 8-month old child who had been left alone in her crib by her father this past weekend. 

Officers searched the home for the child- and found the child asleep in the crib; and no one else was in the home.

The father- Phillip Smeal- was standing in front of Jon and Toni’s bar.  When asked if he knew where his child was, Smeal stated that she was home in the crib. 

He then admitted to officers that he had been drinking, consuming 10 beers and 5 shots of alcohol.

Smeal was arrested by officers on charges of Child Endangerment. 

The child was handed over to the care of her mother and this case has been referred to Hardin County Children Services.
