The Best Family Film of the Year!

We return with our favorite group and their animal antics! Alex the Lion (Ben Stiller), Marty the Zebra (Chris Rock), Gloria the Hippo (Jada Pinkett-Smith) and Melman the Giraffe (David Schwimmer) return in 3-D and work to speed ahead on their mission of getting back to New York.

Left by the penguins, the gang travels to Monte Carlo to find their pilots. What finds them though is the most ruthless animal control officer ever named Captain Chantel DuBois (Frances McDormand). She has dreamed of hunting big game like a lion and won't give up the hunt. With little choice left, the gang slips its way into a traveling circus in hopes of being a good enough act to warrant a performance in New York.

I will reiterate my thoughts once again, this is the best family film of the year so far. It has humor, heart and the magic most people thought Pixar owned wholly. These characters have had ups and downs, but definitely enter the trilogy world on top of the heap. So whether you have kids or are just a kid at heart set some time aside for some wholesome and hearty laughs. And just so you know, my rating is based on the audience and every kid around me, check back during Oscar season if you want to hear about composition, lighting and editing.

Grade: A

MPAA Rating: PG
