Some interesting notes as we wrap up the High School Football regular season:
If Lima Senior loses, it will be the first ever winless season for the Spartans. The school was formed in 1955.
The only winless season in the history of the Lima City Schools was in 1929 when the Central Dragons went 0-10 and scored only 2 points all season.
It's also likely that St. Marys will record a winless season for the first time in school history as they face Shawnee tonight.
If Elida wins tonight it will be win #8 on the season, giving them a third straight season of at least 8 wins. That has happened only once before at Elida (1960-62).
Also, if Elida makes the postseason, they'll join Lima Central Catholic as the only "Lima" school to make three straight playoff appearances.
The T-Birds did it 2005-07 and this season marks their fifth straight.
Bath and Lima Senior each made back-to-back appearances but never three in a row.
Columbus Grove has won seven straight over Bluffton.
This will mark the first time BOTH L.C.C. and Ada are 9-0 entering their season ending showdown. Ada was 9-0 in 2008, 2009 and 2010. The T-Birds were 9-0 last season. Both were perfect in the NWC (7-0) in 2008 and 2009 when Ada won to claim the conference title.
If Ottawa Glandorf beats Van Wert (a virtual certainty) they will finish 10-0 for the first time in school history.
If Wapakoneta wins at Kenton, it will give them seven wins in three consecutive seasons for the first time ever. They've already wrapped up their third straight winning campaign, something that hadn't happened since the Redskins did it in eight straight from 1974-81.
