I really enjoyed the Lima News' list of the Top 25 girls basketball players of the last 25 years in last Sunday's paper.
I had the pleasure of calling many games involving 10 of the girls on the list, including the top 2, Caity Matter and Jennifer Phillips.
It sent me down memory lane and I thought I'd share part of that trip with you beginning with Matter.
Of all the top flight performaces in big games by Caity, the one that came to mind was the night she went over 2,000 career points on January 27, 2000 at Bluffton High School.
She needed 28 to reach the milestone and she got to work right away, scoring 21 in the first quarter.
Matter would end up with 36 points and went over 2,000 points in the thrid quarter in a rout of a pretty good Linconview team.
