Distracted Driving Awareness Month

Lima, OH (WIMA) - April is National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, and the Ohio State Highway Patrol is taking measures to keep drivers' eyes on the road.

The state of Ohio bans all electronic devices while driving for anyone under the age of 18.

Nearly 14,000 Ohio crashes in 2017 had a reported distraction with 51 people dying in those crashes.

The highway patrol reminds drivers that distracted driving is any non-driving activity with the potential to distract a person from the primary task of driving.
